Big Boy Pants for the Big Boy!

Picture
Yesterday I totally outdid myself. I made 5 some pants FROM A PATTERN! I am almost always way too lazy to use a pattern for anything I make (and yes, I know, that often creates MORE work for me...) so this was kind of a big deal.
I got Anna Maria Horner's Handmade Beginnings almost a year ago and have wanted to make her Quick-Change Trousers for nearly that long. I finally did it.
You may have noticed that the fabric of these pants look a little worn. There are a number of good reasons for that. First, this was my first time using this pattern and something usually goes wrong the first time (at least for me). Second, I didn't actually follow the pattern, I made a few changes, which also usually goes wrong the first time. Third, the little man needs more pants, especially warm ones, so I used my oldest, but still cute, lumberjack shirt for the fabric.
You might not be able to tell from this picture, but the front pockets from the shirt are now thigh pockets. What what!
Now that I know what I'm doing, I'll work my way up to using the SUPER CRAZY BEAUTIFUL Loulouthi flannels from Anna Maria Horner that I got in the mail last week.
By Christmastime, this boy is going to be swimming in pants.

While this post may not seem particularly long or complicated, I'm going to tell you that I took a break half way through. I made some chocolate coconut pudding mousse and ate it (not all of it, I made a lot). How can you have a pudding mousse you ask? Well, you make the hippie coconut pudding in the microwave with organic soy milk. Then you make chocolate whipped cream with your grass-fed glass bottle cream and high fructose corn syrup-free chocolate syrup. Once the pudding is not scalding hot, you mix them up. Yes, it is good. No, I'm not really sure what it should be called.

Love the pants. Pretty sure isaac will no longer go for this style. Need more details on the pudding mousse...just any old hippie coconut pudding made with soy milk will do? Love sally

Again I can see a desire for adult sizes!! The pants with the 'cargo pockets' are great!! Wait until he figures out that he can hide things in them.............xoxoxo
